Results of the 2018 NODUS Call for Works!

It is a great pleasure to announce that the following composers and their works were selected and are being performed as part of the NODUS Fall Concert Series:

November 14 concert

Lavender and gray (a setting of synesthesia by Erica Cheung) by Paul Novak for narrator, flute, violin, and piano

November 28 concert

and when white moths were on the wing (mvt 1) by Elizabeth Hoffman for clarinet and electronics

December 12 concert

Terminal Hurt / Terminal Longing (Kentridge’s tree) by Carmen Fizzarotti for violin and cello

Congratulations to these composers as the 3 were selected from over 150 pieces submitted. The panel noted that in addition to these 3 works we received many excellent pieces some which we may be able to program in the future based on performer availability and programming considerations. If we are considering your work for future programming you will hear directly from us.

Again, we want to thank everyone that submitted and hope that you will consider sending us your work again in the future.
